Compared to any other aspect of schooling, teachers have the greatest impact on student learning & achievement.
And yet, many schools' plans for Professional Development fall short of what they are actually meant to do: Develop Teachers.
One high impact way to develop teachers is through coaching.
Every Teacher deserves a coach!
MEET YOUR PD COACH
Karissa Gonzalez, M.Ed.
For many years my professional development experiences were just disappointing and frustrating! I knew that If I wanted to develop into the Teacher my students needed me to be I couldn't just rely on my school's plans for PD to make that happen. So I took my Professional Development into my own hands.
My Teacher Development Journey went from frustrating to fulfilling when I made my PD personal. Here's how:
- I Got clear on my interests and needs
- Stayed active and accountable in my development no matter what my school had planned for PD
- Dug deep into reflective practices
- Shared what inspired me and my growing expertise with others...
And so many other things!
Whether its through the ELT Personal Learning Network (PLN), Courses, or Coaching, I can't wait to share with you all the ways you can make your PD personal!

What Teachers Have to Say...
"Karissa has a gift. She brings such remarkable creativity, commitment, and inter- and intra-personal intelligence to her work with other educators, and she's so joyful when helping teachers probe their mindsets and reflect on their practice, it's contagious. Karissa helped my colleagues and me look deeply at our grading practices and realize how they were connected to so many other aspects of our work we knew weren't aligned with our values but weren't sure how to address; after working with her, we were able to completely transform our approach to teaching, learning, and assessment - which in turn has powerfully shifted the culture of our school to be more equitable, humane, and student-centered. Even after nearly two decades in the classroom, I've learned so much from Karissa, and recommend her as a coach to anyone looking for authentic professional growth."

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get a refund if I'm unhappy with my purchase?
If you are unsatisfied with your coaching, reach out to us to me via email within 24 hours to discuss options.
As stated in Teachable's Terms of Use, Coaching IS NOT covered by Teachable's 30-day student refund policy.
How do I schedule my session?
Upon purchasing coaching, you'll receive further instructions on how to book a time for your session. Sessions are up to 45 mins.
Can I purchase coaching more than once?
Absolutely! If you find yourself in need of coaching more than once, simply purchase the coaching again.
Why are you offering this?
Since becoming an educator in 2013, I have coached and mentored many teachers both formally and informally. It has been so fulfilling! And to know that so many teachers do not have a coach to work with them for their professional development really bothers me. That said, this is an experiment to try something new, to make coaching available to all who want it at whatever value they determine.
How do Pay-What-You-Value sessions work?
You decide what you would like a coaching session for and then decide how much it’s worth to you. After you pay, you’ll receive a link to my scheduler where you can select a few suitable times that work well for both of us. Please show up on time to our session. We will end on time. Slots are limited, so I ask that you give 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule.
How much should I pay?
It’s entirely up to you! Every teacher is at a different place in their career and professional development and personal life so value perceptions and price sensitivities vary widely. Only you can judge what’s right for you. Time and money both hold value. So to help you decide on what to pay for your first session consider this: How much time are you saving in the long run by working together? How much is this time worth to you?
Will the amount I pay affect how we spend our time?
Absolutely not. In fact, I won’t even look at how much you paid before our session. Payment and booking happen automatically, so I have no reason to check what you paid. I will only check what your intake forms describe so I can best prepare for our meeting and supporting you with your goals. Regardless of what is paid, I treat all coaching sessions the same because after every session I am growing and learning as a coach, too. And that, to me, is invaluable.
